Project 365-Week 12

Please ignore the fact that it is Wednesday of week 13, and I am just getting around to posting week 12. Such is my life right now. Here's a peek at the week.

Sunday

Had to work today. This is what I am surrounded by in the backroom...

Boxes and boxes and more boxes. UGH!

Monday

Remember how I told you that Kyla is a little fashionista? Here is what she had on when she got up this morning.

Love it!!

Tuesday

Today Kyla wanted to make Daddy's sandwich for lunch. She got everything out herself and started the process.

When she was finished she had made quite an impressive sandwich.

This was so precious to me!!

Tonight we went to Grammie and Grandpa's for dinner. Afterwards Bryce noticed the phone on the wall. It has been there his whole life, it's probably been there 39 years. He asked, "How do you even make a call on that thing?"

So, there he is having one of life's valuable lessons...How to make a call on a rotary phone!!

Wednesday

I was running some errands today and while out a funeral procession began to pass. I pulled over behind another vehicle as they passed. This is the vehicle that I was behind.

What got me about this vehicle was that when the procession was done, the gentleman driving the vehicle placed his hat back on his head. I was so touched by the way he honored the family that was grieving.

Thursday

Back to work and guess what was and is still there.....

Boxes everywhere!

Friday

Came home from work and had dinner. Afterwards we all had a little treat.

Sugar free Jello pudding. We love it and have it in all different flavors.

While I was eating my pudding Kevin was playing with this moose and posing him. I thought this one was funny.

I know, we're silly!

Saturday

Reese has been really bad about trying to get on the table lately. Even with the chairs pushed in he knows he can squeeze his head up and then make enough room for his body. The girls had just, and I mean just gotten up from eating cereal and look what I caught!

Bad Dog!

Hope you are having a great week!!

Project 365-Week 11

I am running late this week! Another busy weekend at work caused posting to be trumped by lack of time (and energy). We had a good week, here's a quick look.

Sunday

What do I like about this picture?

a. There is not much snow
b. I can see all of my family in the same line of sight
c. We all got to go to church together
d. All of the above

Monday

Worked all day, came home had dinner and got kids to bed. I was getting all comfy when I got a call from my dear friend who wanted to get out of the house with her daughter and they wanted me to come. Well out of my flannel pants I got and off we went. We went to TGI Fridays and Meijer. Sound like fun? It was, so much so that I forgot to take a picture!

Tuesday

With all of the hours I put in at work, good shoes are essential! I have been wearing a pair from Naturalizer most of the time. They have over 1,000 hours in/on them and they are DONE! I got these from Naturalizer a couple of months ago for $10 and have been wearing them a little.

I don't think they will become the "replacement" pair though. Do you think they look like bowling shoes?

Wednesday

Kyla had school today and we received a call this morning asking if we could help transport a child to school that was unable to get there that afternoon. Let me just tell you how excited Kyla was to be a mother hen to this cute little boy!

Thursday

After work tonight a couple of co-workers wanted me to go to a local Mexican restaurant with them. Sounded yummy to me....

...Do you have a favorite Mexican dish?

Friday

Today Ella was supposed to dress up as her favorite story book character for school. She decided to go as Sleeping Beauty. She also thought she looked like the princess from her Barbie and the Dancing Princesses book. Bottom line, she got to wear a dress-up dress to school.

Kyla of course had to get in on the action since she was all "dressed up" for school. On a side note, she is becoming quite a fashionista! She puts together some fun and quirky outfits, all with attitude! :)

I also am posting this picture that Kevin took.

Kevin has always had a fascination with birds. These are Cedar Wax Wings and apparently are uncommon around here. He wanted the camera ASAP when he saw them. I am sure when we are old, you will be able to find Kevin with his binoculars, watching birds and carrying his Audubon Society card! (Love you honey!!)

Saturday

When I got home from work tonight I ate a quick bite and then got the girls their baths. Kevin and Ethan came from from Ethan's Blue Gold banquet for Cub Scouts and the kids wanted to play a game with me. Until bedtime we played this.

We played boys versus girls and it was a heated battle! I am proud to say the girls prevailed in the last moment but it was a good game!!

Hope you are off to a great week!

Project 365-Week 10

This has been a very heavy week with many tears and loss felt by close friends. A week of feeling helpless but doing whatever I could to help. There have also been moments of fun and of course some goofy kids to help remind you that life goes on.

Sunday

After church today I took the boys with me to Sam's Club to get some things for group tonight. I don't know what struck them but they got a serious case of the goofies! They were snapping while walking here....

Kind of like a bad rhythm pair from West Side Story! It was hilarious and caused others shoppers to grin too!

Monday

I received a heart breaking text tonight.

A dear friend's life had been struck with tragedy as she lost a very special person this evening.

Tuesday

Spent some time with my dear friend today before I had to go to work. These would have been in order for us.

So many questions of "why" and knowing that even through the hurt that God has a plan and that we have to rest in it.

Wednesday

I had to work for a little this morning. When I got off I got to do something rare and special...

I got to pick Kyla up from school! I hardly ever get to pick her up anymore because I am usually at work. It was so fun to see her come out and hear her talk about her day on the way home.

Thursday

Leave it to the girls to always bring a smile to my face. They decided to wear new swimsuits that Gram got for them today.

Can you see their underwear sticking out? Too funny! Does anyone else have children that love to play around the house in their suits? In the summer they will probably want to wear their snow pants!

Friday

Tonight after work I attended the visitation for the young man who lost his life earlier this week.

This family has been amazing to watch over the past few weeks. It has been my honor and privilege to walk with them through this tragedy.

Saturday

This morning was the funeral. I of course did not take any pictures but the visions I saw are forever burned in mind. I watched a young widow caress the box holding her husband's remains. Caressing that box and smiling an innocent smile of lifelong love.
I watched the father, the patriarch of this family who has stood strong over the past two weeks, then carry and hold that same box. While he would talk to people I would watch his thumb stroke the side of that box. Confirming that he would take care of everything.
It is a reminder to us all to hug a little tighter, laugh a little longer and to treasure every moment that God blesses us with here.

When I got home Grammie was here. She and Grandpa just got back from a month long vacation. Here is something she brought the girls.

Ocean and beach treasures...some with sand still in them!

I hope that you have had a good week and that you hug someone a little longer this week!
