Project 365-Week 5

Where in the world did January go? Why does time go so much faster when we want it to slow down?
It has been an interesting week here...some sickness went around our house. Here is a look...Not at the sickness by the way!

Sunday

Guess what time of year it is?

Pinewood Derby time! This is Ethan's first year in Cub Scouts and our first run as derby participants. Grandpa did the cutting of his wood, so once Kevin and Ethan get it decorated I'll give you a peek.

Monday

Here is what my drive to work looked like this morning.

This is a main highway here and it was slow going. I don't know if you can tell but they were plowing 3 wide, so at least it was freshly cleared!

Tonight started doing this....

Reese got half a cut. Did his legs and belly to try to keep the snowballs off. He wasn't too happy so will have to finish the top half later.

Tuesday

Had a doctor visit today. Not me, but this one...

He did well. Notice, top half of haircut still not done.

Wednesday

Tonight on my way home from work I ended up here.

Now you may think I stopped for a snack, but you would be mistaken. I followed a person driving erratically for a couple of miles while on the phone with 911. They weren't driving fast, but kept crossing over all of the lanes and shoulders, going around curves on the wrong side, it was awful!! I kept praying, "please Lord, don't let anyone be coming." It ended up being an older woman who was heavily medicated. She had no idea where she was or how she got there. The police told her she couldn't drive home and waited at McDonald's with her until her ride came.

Thursday

Today was a fun morning. Most of our small group ladies went to visit Michelle.

Michelle is the one in the pink and is being induced next Friday!! She has been on bed-rest for a while now so we went to see her and took lunch to her today. I love these ladies so!!
I also had to take a picture of this while I was there. Those of you who have waited for it to be "time" for the baby to come will appreciate this.

All of her bags packed and ready by the door!

Friday

After work tonight we were sitting around the table eating and one of the kid's mentioned that it was Fun Fair night at school. We hadn't talked about going and there was only an hour left, but we loaded up and headed out.

The girls wanted to go straight to the "Balloon Men" to get these...

Kyla with her monkey hat.

Ella with her dog.

And I think about every boy was walking out of the school with these.

And the girls also had this done...

Saturday

This morning I got to take Bryce to ISSMA to perform his piano and vocal solos. He did a great job, especially since this was his first time competing.

He earned first place medals for both! Great job Bryce!!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have had a great week!!

Project 365-Week 4

Time is flying around here. I feel like everyday I fall further behind in my "everyday" things. Hopefully things will slow down soon but until then here's a quick look at my week.

Sunday

Today was a glorious day for me! I didn't have to work, so I got to go to church!! I haven't been to church since the end of November/beginning of December due to my schedule. While at church I picked up this...

It's the study guide for small group and since I didn't have to work, we had small group at my house!! Oh today was a good day!!

Monday

Ethan had Cub Scouts this evening so Kevin took him and his good friend Michael. They finished making their wood project. Here is what he made.

Pretty cool birdhouse, huh? Notice that the "vips" can stay there. I love his sweet mind!

Tuesday

Spent a fair amount of time on these today before going to work.

Getting fundraiser things finalized via phone and email for the rest of the year at the pre-school.

Wednesday

Today was a very special day! It was Mom's visitation at Kyla's school. I had so much fun spending the afternoon with her!! At one of our stations she practiced writing her name.

She did a great job! Thanks for sharing your day with me Kyla!!

Thursday

Today I was off so I tried to get some household things done, some errands run and Kevin and I were able to take in a show. I don't know if you are familiar with the two stars but I am sure they will be household names soon!

They were all dressed up and doing fun dances, songs and announcements for us! Great entertainment!

The other great thing about being home today was giving the girls their baths tonight. I know, mundane task but I don't get to do it much anymore with my schedule. I know this will surprise you, but they were being goofy so I had to snap a shot!

Oh those girls make me smile. (So do my boys but I don't bathe them anymore!!)

Friday

Last week I mentioned we had a lunch at the pre-school. We grilled steaks and I put a call out on Facebook to borrow George Foreman grills. People were very gracious and let me borrow some. Well one wasn't in a rush to get hers back, so truth be told, we used it twice at home. AMAZING!!

Tonight, she and her family came in to my store and I told her if I had known she was coming I would have brought it, that we had been using it, etc. Guess what she told me? "Just keep it!" What?!! They insisted and I can't tell you how excited we are! We have an outside grill but let's face it, we live in Northern Indiana. You know, where it is cold and snowy. Now we can grill inside....YAHOO!!! Thanks Missy!!

Saturday

My precious friend Lori is always giving us clothes for the girls as her daughter outgrows them. We are always so thankful and the girls insist on going through every piece to see what treasures have arrived. Well there was something extra special this time. They each have a pair they are wearing all of the time. Here is Kyla with them on first thing in the morning with her jammies.

Nothing makes a fashion statement like plastic, princess "high heels" trimmed in marabou. Oh no, nothing!

I pray that you have had a great week full of heart filling moments mixed with some stylish giggles too!!

Project 365-Week 3

Only 3 weeks in and I'm already late in posting. Guess that's what happens when you are crazy busy! Here is a look at the week.

Sunday

Our dog is pathetic and spoiled. Kyla had him all covered up tonight.

His body is actually stretched out under there. Crazy dog!

Monday

The girls broke out the bathing suits again today.

Maybe if I was that cute I would run around in a bathing suit too!

Tuesday

Today I had a meeting to get things finalized for a fundraiser we are doing at the pre-school. We going to be selling Papa Murphy's pizza. If you're not familiar it is a "Take and bake" pizza place and they have all different kinds to chose from. While I was at my meeting I was told I had to take home their new dessert pizza to try it.

That's how it looked before it was baked and then after....

It is a S'More pizza. It has chocolate chips in each twist of the crust and on the pizza itself, marshmallows and a graham crumb topping. OH.MY.GOODNESS!!

Wednesday

Today we had a luncheon for Mrs. Roeder at pre-school. We went with a Texas theme with steaks, Texas sheet cake and other fun things. This is Mrs. Roeder.

We brought in some big hair, she has a big smile. Let's just say we ran with the "EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas" theme!

Thursday

When I left work tonight I saw this.

Can you see what it is? It is a dog, a real one, just laying on the dash waiting for it's people. Part of me was mad that someone left their dog in the car but the other part of me thought, "Reese would NEVER just lay still like that and wait in a car with people walking by!"

Friday

Today Kevin got a special prize.

He got a Webkinz. We both have accounts so we can send things to the kids and know what they are doing and talking about. Kevin's account ran out over a year ago. Well our Hallmark here in town is going out of business and was selling their Webkinz at 75% off. So for $3 and change Kevin now has Manny. I know, we're geeks!

Saturday

Today while I was at work, Grammie came and took Kevin and the kids to see this.

Everyone had a great time! Thanks Grammie for always doing such great things!!

Now, maybe next week I can post on time!! Have a super week!!

Project 365-Week 2

Well a full week of 2011 done. Here is a peek at my week.

Sunday

If I have to look at one of these before next year I will run in the opposite direction!

Today was inventory in our store and backroom. I went to work at 9:00 a.m. and left at 1:45 a.m. Monday. It was a L.O.N.G day! Thanks to our great team, things went pretty smoothly.

Monday

I love my girls! I never know what fun thing they will come up with. Today they decided to work on these.

Grammie got these masks and all of the stuff to decorate them for Ella for Christmas. Notice Kyla is wearing a bathing suit, the perfect fashion choice for crafting!

Tuesday

Ella has such a sweet heart. Towards the end of last year she took a whole bunch of her money to church to give towards a project to help children have a safe place to worship in Uganda. Well she has been filling up this box to do the same again.

I am so proud of her giving spirit!!

Wednesday

I was off today and all 4 of the kids were at school, so Kevin and I took the opportunity to go here.

We went to lunch, child free, at Logan's! Thanks for the gift card Mom & Dad!

Thursday

Tonight we went to Mom & Dad's for my belated birthday dinner. After we ate Mom showed me this.

She loves to do puzzles, but then she showed me the inside.

All I have to say is, "No thank you!"

Friday

We started getting snow again. When I came home from work, Kevin had some helpers working on the driveway.

That's some super sweet help!

Saturday

Today it snowed like crazy!! Many areas got 2 feet! I was supposed to be off today which was good, but got called to go in at 5:00 because no one else could. They ended up closing the mall at 6:00 due to the weather. Kevin took this picture when the sky was bright and sunny...

...and then 15 minutes later it looked like this.

Lots of snow also causes issues for someone else here.

Reese gets covered in snowballs and we have to pick them off or melt them off with a blow dryer. Oh the fun!

I hope you have had a great week and are enjoying 2011!!

Project 365-Week 1

Happy New Year!! I decided to continue with Project 365 again this year. It was such a blessing last year! I know today is the first day of the year, but in keeping with the pattern I will start this week last Sunday.

Sunday

Ella got a GoGo Puppy for Christmas. She loves it! So does someone else....

This is as close as Reese is getting to a playmate!

Monday

Today while I was on break at work I ran in to a very special friend. We went to high school together and he was one of the groomsmen in our wedding. He moved to Atlanta many years ago and we haven't seen him in 12 or 13 years.

This is Jeff. It was so great to see him, just wish Kevin could have seen him too!

Tuesday

Today the girls and I took Reese to have his nails trimmed. (I just can't do it) While we were there the girls wanted to look at the kitties that were available for adoption.

This one kept sticking his paw out for the girls to pet him. His name is Lucky and we hope he finds a good home soon!

Wednesday

One word....

UGH!!!

Thursday

Ella had "A" spend the night tonight. Her whole family came over for an impromptu dinner. The kids decided to sing for us.

They were very cute and funny!

Friday

Today at work besides helping people I was working on this.

See how all of the tags are hanging out? We have been pulling out every tag to get ready for inventory tomorrow and Saturday.

Saturday

Today is my birthday. I had to work all day so I did this when I got home tonight.

I looked at many birthday wishes from friends new and old, near and far on Facebook. It was a really nice way to end the day.

Here's wishing you a blessed 2011 full of growth, joy and peace!! I look forward to journeying with you!
